Delhi-NCR is once again dealing with heavy monsoon rain, with several parts of the capital receiving intense showers on Tuesday, August 25. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Delhi, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.
The latest spell comes just a day after heavy rain caused severe waterlogging, traffic jams and disruption to flight operations across Delhi and nearby areas.

Rain began affecting several parts of Delhi during the morning hours, with waterlogging reported on roads and low-lying stretches. Areas including Connaught Place, Parliament Street, AIIMS, ITO and RK Puram were among the locations affected by the showers.

Heavy rain on Monday also disrupted air travel. At least 15 Delhi-bound flights were diverted because of adverse weather conditions, with flights sent to airports including Jaipur, Chandigarh and Lucknow. Airlines including Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet issued passenger advisories.
As of Tuesday morning, Delhi Airport said flight operations were currently normal, although passengers were advised to check their flight status because weather conditions could change.
More Rain Expected in Delhi-NCR
The latest weather updates suggest that the rain spell is not over yet. Delhi and nearby NCR areas, including Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad, are expected to see further rainfall and thunderstorms.
