After a shocking bomb blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station, security agencies have swung into action. Raids and searches are underway across the national capital and nearby states. In response to the incident, several key locations in Delhi have been temporarily closed as precautionary measures.
Red Fort Closed for Three Days
The explosion took place just outside the Red Fort, one of Delhi’s most popular tourist spots. Following the blast, authorities immediately sealed the entire area. The Red Fort will remain closed to the public for three days, and no visitors will be allowed inside during this period. Security personnel have been deployed in large numbers around the fort, and the Delhi Metro has also announced that the Red Fort Metro Station will remain closed until further notice.
Chandni Chowk Market Also Shut Down
In the wake of the blast, Chandni Chowk — Delhi’s busiest and most historic marketplace — has also been closed. The Chandni Chowk Market Association announced that all shops will remain shut on Tuesday, November 11th, to ensure public safety. Given its close proximity to the Red Fort and heavy daily footfall, the decision was taken as a preventive measure.
Security Tightened Across the City
Following the incident, Delhi Police and security agencies have stepped up surveillance across major areas of the city. Security has been intensified at metro stations, railway stations, bus terminals, and markets. Random checks and searches are being carried out, and suspicious individuals are being questioned.
The blast has come just days after a large cache of explosives and weapons was recovered from Faridabad, raising concerns about possible coordinated terror activity. Authorities have launched a manhunt for suspects linked to the incident, and multiple individuals are being interrogated.
Delhi remains on high alert as security agencies continue their operations. Citizens are advised to stay alert, avoid crowded areas, and follow official advisories until normalcy returns.
