Operation Sindoor: India Strikes 9 Terror Camps in Pakistan, Kills 70 Terrorists in Precision Missile Attacks
Operation Sindoor- In a powerful military response, the Indian Armed Forces carried out 24 precision missile strikes early Wednesday, targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes aimed at dismantling terror strongholds, including Muridke and Bahawalpur, key hubs of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
Over 70 Terrorists Killed, 60 Injured in Coordinated Strikes
The operation led to the death of over 70 terrorists and injured more than 60, delivering a significant blow to the operational capabilities of these terror outfits.
According to official reports, the missile strikes were launched at 1:44 AM in direct retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people—including 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national.
Defence Ministry Confirms Focused, Measured Action
In an official statement, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that the airstrikes precisely targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, without hitting any Pakistani military facilities.
“Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution,” the Defence Ministry stated.
The ministry highlighted that the operation was designed to minimize escalation while sending a strong message to terror networks operating from Pakistani soil.
PM Modi: Terror Perpetrators Will Be Punished Beyond Imagination
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s resolve to hold the perpetrators accountable, vowing to track them to the ends of the earth and inflict punishment “beyond their imagination.”
The strikes were carried out just hours before a scheduled nationwide security mock drill across 244 districts, aimed at enhancing civil defence readiness in the event of hostile attacks.
Inside the Targeted Terror Camps
During a press briefing, government officials detailed the significance of the nine terror camps targeted in the operation:
- Sawai Nala Camp (Muzaffarabad): Located 30 km inside Pakistan, this was a key training camp of Lashkar-e-Taiba, used for militant recruitment and preparation.
- Syedna Bilal Camp (PoK): A critical staging area for Jaish-e-Mohammed, serving as both an arms and ammunition depot and a training centre for militants.
The other camps, spread across Muridke, Bahawalpur, and other PoK regions, functioned as operational bases and logistics hubs for terror planning against India.
A Decisive Message to Terror Networks
With Operation Sindoor, India has delivered a clear and decisive message: terror attacks targeting Indian soil will be met with swift, targeted, and proportionate military retaliation.
