IRCTC Ticket Cancellation Charges: 

The railways charge a charge of Rs. 120 per passenger on sleeper class ticket on ticket cancellation 48 hours before the train runs. The charge on AC third tier is Rs. 180. For this period, if you cancel the AC second-tier ticket, a charge of Rs. 200 per passenger is charged. There is a cancellation charge of Rs. 240 for cancellation of AC first-class ticket. If you are thinking of late ticket cancellation, you need to know that the railways charge up to 25% of the fare up to 12 hours before the train runs. If you cancel the ticket before you become a chart from 12 hours, you may have to pay up to 50% of the fare as a cancellation charge.

IRCTC Special Train Ticket Cancellation and Refund Rules:

All passengers traveling in special trains will be compulsorily screened, and if the body temperature is high and there are symptoms of COVID-19, etc., they will not be allowed to travel despite having confirmed tickets. In such a case, the full refund will be made to the passenger as follows:-

On being a single passenger on PNR:

  • A full refund will be allowed for all passengers if a passenger is found unfit to travel, and all other passengers on the same PNR do not wish to travel in that case.
  • If a passenger does not want to travel on PNR and the other passenger on the same PNR wants to travel, he will be given a full refund of the ticket fare.
  • Online TDR will be filed within 10 days from the date of the journey for a refund of passengers who have not traveled after obtaining a TTE certificate.
  • In all cases, TTE certificates will be issued to the passenger at the entry/checking/screening point, stating that one or more passengers did not travel due to symptoms of COVID-19.
