The government has recently extended the deadline for linking pan to Aadhaar on 31st March 2021. Those who have still not linked their pan card to Aadhaar number can do it by this date. Pan cards that are not linked to Aadhaar till this stipulated time frame will be deactivated, and there is also a provision of fine for using such an inactive pan card. Let's know how the pan card can be linked to Aadhaar. Pan number can be easily linked to a 12 digit Aadhaar card number through the e-filing portal (www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in). In addition, pan number can also be linked to Aadhaar through SMS. For this, you need to SMS the number 567678 or 56161 by typing a message in UIDPAN <12digit Aadhaar> <10digitPAN> format. Pan number can also be linked to the Aadhaar card through an offline medium. This will have to be contacted at the pan service centers of NSDL and UTITSL.
How to check status:
Step 1. First, go to the e-filing website www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
