Tuesday came as one of sad day in politics as Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan, one of the prominent leaders the BJP and Lok Sabha member from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, died at a hospital in Gurugram, as per the statement by the family on Tuesday. As the sources suggest his last rituals will be performed at his ancestral place in Shahpur which is in the Burhanpur district on Wednesday.  As per his son’s statement Harshvardhan Chauhan he was of 69 years at the time of death.

He started his political journey from Shahpur Municipal Corporation in the year 1978, after some time he was elected as the important member of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. He was elected as the MLA from the year 1985 to 1996, then for the very first time in year 1996 he was elected as the member of Lok Sabha, and from here his journey to be part of Lok Sabha started as he got re-elected in 1998, 1999, 2004, 2014 and 2019.

He was popularly known as the “Nandu Bhaiya” In his political journey. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan mourned on his death and tweeted “He has put the best foot in the journey and was one of the best state BJP presidents”. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the BJP has lost an ideal specialist and a devoted pioneer.

His human remaining parts will arrive at his familial town today. I offer my accolades to him. Previous Union pastor and senior BJP pioneer Uma Bharti and state Congress boss Kamal Nath likewise mourned the passing. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the death of the Khandwa MP. Taking to Twitter, the PM posted: "Disheartened by this sudden death of Lok Sabha MP from Khandwa Shri Nandkumar Singh Chauhan Ji. He will be associated with his commitments to Parliamentary procedures, authoritative abilities, and endeavors to fortify the BJP across Madhya Pradesh. Sympathies to his family. Om Shanti." 

As per the reports, the Madhya Pradesh CM is planning to plant a sapling in the memory of the late BJP MP in the Smart City Park in Shyamala Hills. Some other political personalities who offered their condolence to him, are  Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti as well as the state Congress chief Kamal Nath of MP.
