The telecommunication industry in India has come under undue stress since the introduction of the data tariff war. However, due to some new hurdles recently encountered, telecom sector companies are likely to be laid to rest under another huge financial burden.
The Supreme Court passed on its verdict last week on the Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) case, a case pending for more than a decade and a half. The new decision means that the telecom industry is now awaiting arrears of more than Rs 80,000 crore or more than Rs 1 lakh crore based on penalties, interest, spectrum usage charges, and license fees. But, with all these things taking place in the industry, and ET Telecome report on the matter has highlighted that the government can support telecom operators to provide some relief to the ailing industry. This means that Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone, Idea may hike tariff prices in the coming months.
It should be noted that recently, new plans have been launched by BSNL. BSNL has launched a plan for its Chennai and Tamil Nadu users. The price of this plan is Rs108, and you will set out every benefit for 28 days, although the validity of the plan is 180 days. This means that after 28 days you will have to fix some other plan for some other benefits.
As I informed you, that this plan has been introduced by BSNL, i.e., Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited for its new users, it means that new users are also going to acquire the benefit of unlimited voice calling in this plan, However, it is only available to you at the rate of 250 minutes per day. With this, you are also going to get 1 GB data daily in this plan, and for 28 days you will get the benefit of 500 SMS as well.
