Older patients who are 60 years of age or older and who are already suffering from a disease, such as diabetes, heart disease, liver-kidney disease, etc., come in people who can be allowed to have isolation at home only after a thorough checkup by the medical worker.
Patients who are in isolation at home will be able to leave only 10 days after the onset of symptoms and three days of continuous fever. According to the new guidelines, the patient will be advised to stay isolated at home and monitor his health for seven days. There is no need for a test after the period of separation of the house is over.
Asymptomatic patients who do not see any symptoms or have very mild symptoms can opt for isolation at home if they have the necessary facility at their home to avoid contact with other family members.
According to the new guidelines, 24x7 should be available to one or the other for patient care. In addition, the guidelines reiterated that caregivers and all close contacts of such cases should take hydroxychloroquine as a preventive drug by the protocol and as prescribed by the medical officer of treatment.
Patients should monitor their health and regularly inform the district monitoring officer of the health condition, which will provide further convenience by the monitoring teams.
