On Thursday, tech giant IBM announced a free digital learner platform to help job seekers in India through skill build initiatives and provide new resources to business owners in India. This platform, named Skills Build Reignite, will provide free online coursework and mentoring support, designed to help people facilitate their careers and businesses. In November last year, IBM launched the Skills Build Reignite program in collaboration with the directorate general of training under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
Under the skills-building program through e-learner, 14,135 learners have availed, who have completed 40,000 courses and 77,000 hours of e-learner. Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, said, we are launching the skill build reignite and innovation camp in collaboration with IBM India." This will also be an important milestone in supporting efforts to accelerate the revival of the Indian economy during the Corona period.
The Skill Build Reignite program aims to help small businesses set up or resume, which are suffering from coronavirus. This will include more research and personal coaching for many entrepreneurs. The course includes financial management, business strategy, digital strategy, legal aid, and more. IBM will play an important role in meeting local needs by joining NGOs such as Edunet and Advancement Foundation.
IBM India/South Asia general manager Sandeep Patel said, the platform not only gives career reinforcement opportunities but also new ways of working for business strategy and independent support. IBM also announced a 10-week skill build innovation camp, which can connect any interested who want to learn.
