According to the researcher Rose Kenny, Trinity College in Dublin, people who die of coronavirus in Italy and Spain are found to have acute vitamin D deficiency.
People live inside the houses in these places. Use sunscreen when exiting. That is why they lack vitamin D. It is better to take vitamin D supplements than to achieve it with sunlight. It also helps to fight other viral infections, such as influenza or common cold cough.
Because of the lockdown, people are not getting out of the house, so their exercise has also decreased. This helps in reducing stress. If stress is low, our immunity works more. If you exercise in a park, garden, or lush green area, you can avoid blood pressure and heart diseases even when you are close to nature. It also helps in avoiding diabetes. Walking out is also distant loneliness. We come in contact with other people. It also helps us to relax and recover our minds.
Some research has also found that trees have a direct bearing on our immune system. Spending more time around trees is more active in our body's immune cells. These cells detect and eliminate viruses and cancer cells. According to a study in Japan, we take the element of phytoncides with the breath by living around the trees. This contributes greatly to strengthening our immune system.
The deteriorating rhythm of the body clock:
Walking out also makes a difference in our sleep. The rhythm of our body clock has deteriorated due to the closure of the house during the lockdown. This has also adversely affected sleep. Sleeping late in the morning and waking up late at night is not good for our health. If someone does not get out of the house for a long time, the rhythm of his body's biological clock worsens. Those who spend the morning in the open air and light are better sleepy. Their sleep disruption is also reduced. Those who live in electric lights in closed houses disturb their sleep. Light may not be directly related to our immune system, which is directly linked to sleep.
Getting up early in the morning brings good sleep at night. Good sleep protects us from stress and depression. And our immune system works better when it is away from them. How long is it necessary to stay out to take advantage of these benefits of getting out of the house? Scientists do not have any concrete answers to this question at the moment. But, jogging in the morning light and acquiring vitamin D from the sun rays strengthens our ability to fight diseases. So, if the lockdown continues even further, you should try to exit the house at least once a day.
