The government is considering sanctioning the first vaccine for the elderly and people working at high-risk places. He also said that if the question of trust in the vaccine arises, he will first be vaccinated.
The vaccine may arrive at the beginning of the new year:
According to a health minister statement, Harsh Vardhan said that there is no date fixed for launching the vaccine. It may come at the beginning of 2021. First of all, it will be made available to those who need it the most, whether they are in a position to buy it or not. The Union minister was interacting with the people in his digital program 'Sunday Dialogue.'
All precautions have been taken:
Harsh Vardhan said the government is taking full care of the human testing of the vaccine. A group of national experts at Corona, headed by Niti Aayog Member (Health) Dr. V.K. Issues like the safety of the vaccine, cost, equity, necessary cold chain, and production timelines are discussed in detail.
These people will get initial vaccinations:
The Union minister said that the first vaccine is being considered to the elderly, and high-risk people like health workers, persons suffering from serious diseases, and those with weak immunity. But a final decision will be taken in this direction only after the availability of the vaccine. He said that if people have any fear or apprehension about the safety of this vaccine, he would prefer to take a dose of it so that people's confidence would increase.
The trials being monitored:
On one question, he said that several vaccine tests in government and private laboratories and hospitals in the country have reached various stages. The Department of Biotechnology and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has remained active and are keeping an eye on the changed situation.
The pandemic has changed into opportunity:
Harsh Vardhan said the pandemic has turned into an opportunity for Indian producers. Earlier, there was not a single company making PPE kits based on standards in the country, today the number has reached about 110. Today, the country has reached its export position.
