To beat TikTok, Google has launched an app called Tangi, which is a short-form video making app. The Tangi app has been prepared by Google's in-house incubator area 120 team. This is an experimental social video sharing app that allows quick DIY videos to share videos with people to learn new things. Like TikTok, users can also make 60 seconds of videos on this app. While TikTok uses the app for fun, this app can be used for educational purposes. The app has a number of categories like DIY, cooking, lifestyle, art, fashion, and beauty for videos.
Currently, the Tangi app is available for download on Apple's App Store and web while not available on the Play Store for Android users. This app is available in all parts of the world except the European Union. It is not yet clear how long the app will be available for Android users. Google has reported that some people can currently upload videos to this app, and other users will have to join the waitlist first. TikTok is a social media app where users can post short videos of up to 15 seconds. The algorithm shows content in your feed based on the kind of videos you watch on the app and the number of times you watch those videos. The ByteDance firm's app has been downloaded a total of 1.5 billion times.
TikTok was first launched in China in September 2016, and the app was brought to other markets in 2017. In 2018, the app was fourth in the most downloaded non-gaming apps.
