Today, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has released the ranking of states in ease of doing business today, i.e., In this ranking, states and Union Territories (UTs) have been kept from a business perspective. The last time this ranking was released in the year 2018. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were also present during the meeting.
The purpose of releasing the ranking is:
In fact, today, on Saturday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal released the state trade reform Action Plan 2019 (ease of doing business) rankings. The aim of releasing this ranking is to give direction to further improve the current business environment in the States of India. The ranking is released based on the implementation of the scheme of business reform works of states.
Ranking of States in Ease of Doing:
State and Union Territories ranked in the ranking of Ease of Doing released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry,
- The first place has been achieved by Andhra Pradesh.
- The second position has been achieved by Uttar Pradesh.
- The third-place has been achieved by Telugu.
- The fourth position has been achieved by Madhya Pradesh.
- The fifth-place has been achieved by Jharkhand.
- Chhattisgarh has achieved the sixth position.
- Himachal Pradesh has achieved the seventh position.
- Rajasthan has achieved the eighth position.
- West Bengal has achieved the ninth position.
- Gujarat has achieved the tenth position.
The ranking is released on the basis of:
Because of further improvement in the business environment in the States, the ranking is issued on the basis of construction permits, labor laws, environment registration, access to information, availability of land, and single Window system for competition among all states. This competition further improves the business of the States. Under the Business Reform Action Plan, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) releases ease of doing rankings for all states and union territories.
What the Finance minister said:
The rankings released in the year 2018 were different places in these states. In this case, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman says, this is the fourth edition of the rankings released. This ranking has been released for the year 2019. He further said that West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, and Delhi have also been ranked in the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) rankings this year. Assam has been the best performance in the north-eastern states.
