There is big news for the work of drivers. Now there is no need to visit and wait in line Regional Transport Office (RTO) to get a driver's license. Instead, the central government has made the rules for obtaining a driving license quite simple.

The driving test is not required for DL.

Due to modifications to the requirements for a driving license, you will no longer be required to take any driving tests by visiting the RTO. These regulations are currently in effect after being announced by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. They will consequently have a huge sense of relief because they will be taken off the RTO's waiting list for a driving license.

Go to driving school and take training.

The ministry claims that you won't have to wait to give the test at the RTO to get your license anymore. Instead, you are welcome to apply for a license at any respectable driving school. If the candidates finish the necessary training and ace the test there, the school will issue them a certificate. The applicant's driver's license will be issued based on this certification.

What are the new rules?

The Ministry of Road and Transport has also issued specific standards and regulations for training centers. This spans the spectrum of training facilities to trainer education. Let's analyze this.

  • For providing training to two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and light motor vehicles, a minimum of one acre of ground must be available. For centers for medium and heavy passenger freight cars or trailers, however, two acres are required.
  • The instructor should possess a minimum of high school graduation, five years of driving experience, and a thorough knowledge of traffic laws.
  • A teaching driving curriculum has also been suggested by the government. The period of the light vehicle learning course is up to 4 weeks and 29 hours. These driving schools will teach theory and application in a two-part program.
  • For 21 hours, people must learn how to drive on basic roads, rural roads, highways, and city streets and how to park, reverse, and drive uphill and downhill. The theory component of the course will span 8 hours and cover subjects including driving safety, road etiquette, traffic education, comprehending accident causes, first aid, and fuel efficiency.
