According to recent data of the Health and Family department, this year 3,799 new cases have been registered till Friday from 4 different districts of Uttarakhand. The number of patients will continuously grow due to post-monsoon weather until October last. Also, 7 serious cases of dengue disease have been reported till now. The reports show that this is the maximum number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals in Uttarakhand in the earlier years. Dengue fever causes unbearable pain and flu-like illness. The symptoms are fever, headache, body ache, joint pains, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and skin rashes.

Dengue caused so many deaths in past years, and it is a hazardous disease if it's not treated or cured on time. There is no accurate medication or cure found for dengue fever till now, but a proper and adequate diet with complete bed rest is beneficial to cure this disease.

Most incidents being reported from plains in comparison of hills, Health department administrators are telling that weather change is the main cause of the expansion of this disease.

According to a statistically figure this year till September 20, the total number of dengue patients is 2,434 in Dehradun, and due to dengue fever, 6 people lost their lives. These figures followed by Nainital, where 1,134 patients are hospitalized and one of them has died. The other 231 patients are related to Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar district.

Assistant Director of Health and Family welfare department says low temperature and humidity protects people from dengue viruses, In such conditions, dengue breeding and eruption is not possible. He told dengue is a climate-driven illness and dengue larva breeds in temperature from 20°C to 30°C furthermore it needs moisture more than 60%. And these conditions match with plain areas like Dehradun and Haridwar.
