Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has extended the validity of its "Work@Home" promotional broadband plan till May 19. The plan was launched last month to provide free Internet facility to BSNL landline customers. It provides 10Mbps download speeds with a 5GB data cap on a daily basis to promote the social distribution and encourage customers to work from home - this big decision was taken on behalf of the company, limiting the spread of coronavirus outbreaks. BSNL was initially giving this promotional broadband plan with a validity of one month till April 19.

The official Twitter account of BSNL Tamil Nadu has announced the extension of the promotional broadband plan Work@Home. This account has posted an image showing the availability of the scheme by May 19. Originally, BSNL launched the broadband plan for its landline customers in March with a validity of one month till April 19. It started in all circles, including Andaman And Nicobar Circle. Moreover, the expansion was expected as the government had recently extended the countrywide lockdown till May 3. The lockdown, which aims to limit coronavirus proliferation, was initially in force until April 14.

In terms of benefits, the daily quota of the Work@Home broadband plan by BSNL is 5GB at a speed of 10Mbps. The speed of 1Mbps will be reduced when the limit exceeds. The plan also includes a free email ID with a 1GB storage space. Moreover, it does not require any monthly fees and is available without a security deposit. However, there will be no change in existing voice calling subscriptions and call fees, according to the landline plan. BSNL landline customers can avail of the new broadband plan by dialing toll-free number 1800-345-1504.
