Kolkata has been added as the 17th destination to India's newest airline, Akasa Air, strengthening its position in the eastern area.
At 1755 hours, the first flight on this service will depart from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport bound for Guwahati. Starting May 18, 2023, Akasa Air will offer daily nonstop flights from Kolkata to Bengaluru and Guwahati. Additionally, daily trips via Kolkata from Bengaluru to Guwahati will be an option for passengers. Without changing flights, passengers will be given a smooth connection for this.
After Bagdogra, Kolkata will be Akasa Air's second destination in West Bengal for its flight operations. Its debut will significantly improve interstate connectivity to the city.
Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of Akasa Air Praveen Iyer stated, "We are very happy to start operations from Kolkata in West Bengal, our second destination. The city draws visitors from all walks of life because it is a significant business and cultural hub, and the area also serves as a gateway to several vacation spots.
Travel to the country's eastern area will be made much easier with the start of flights from Kolkata City to Bengaluru and Guwahati, strengthening the nation's aviation connectivity. We think travelers will appreciate having the choice to travel on these routes with India's most reputable and reasonably priced airlines.
